momofuku

Had lunch with my roommate and our good friend today at momofuku noodle bar. We've heard a lot of great reviews and I was definitely amp to try the food. Surprisely, we didn't have to wait long to be seated since we came after lunch rush hour. The place is narrow as far as seating arrangements goes but the place feels homie and I just love the lighting and modern look.

We ordered the pork steam buns and fingerling potatoes for appetizers. I really love the taste of the fingerling potatoes it had benton's bacon, scallions, and a poached egg served on top. I ordered the momofuku ramen which comes in a huge bowl and it contains different pork parts and a poached egg. It was good but nothing out of this world. lol. I just love the expression on my friend's face.

Cherry & Cynthia

I'm currently spending my weekend in Long Island visiting some good friends. I just love getting away from the crazy and busy life of N.Y. and go to a place where it's quiet and relaxing. Today was such a gorgeous day. I couldn't help but take lots of pictures of the cherry blossom tree in front of my friend's apt. complex. Isn't the tree so beautiful and vibrant?
perfect weather to wear mini's

Napoleon

It's been about a week since my trip to D.C. and my final day we had brunch at a little french bistro called Napoleon. We were actually suppose to have brunch at a place down the block called Perry's. Perry's, is known for there eccentric drag performers but unfortunately the wait was nearly two hours. Anyways, this little vibrant black and red decor restaurant caught our eye and well to our surprise the restaurant was a huge hit.

If you happen to be in the D.C. area I highly recommend checking this place out. The price is affordable. The portions are good. It's funny when the waiter asked us if we've been here and we replied with a "no" he seriously looked at us lost and finally noted that this was going to be the best brunch we ever had. lol. He was right.

I love Egg's Benedict and not to brag but I make some pretty bad ass benedicts. I had sunday brunch with the roommates this morning. I served french toasts, hash browns, fresh strawberries, egg's benedicts, and of course brunch would not be complete until you serve the mimosa's.

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

The District

This past weekend was the cherry blossom tree festival due to the unpredictable weather here in the east coast we weren't fortunate enough to witness the bloom .. so sad. The bf and I still had a good time we got to see most of the national monuments, amazing dining experience, hotel was top notch, perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of ny and of course the main reason we went to D.C. was to visit my best friend.

We had dinner and drinks at a late night hot spot called Asia Nine. It's a fusion oriental restaurant that features thai, viet, chinese, and japanese inspired dishes. I had the miso honey duck breast served with king oyster mushroom and young peppercorns. It was perfection.

I been searching for a nice sequin jacket but all the ones I've seen were over-priced. This is my latest find and I'm so lucky it was only $18. I just love the colors .. black and gold .. Go Saints!

Take a stroll through the east village

Finally, mother nature has rewarded us with beautiful, sunny, and warm spring weather. It's time to store all those heavy winter clothes and time to bust out the spring dresses and hoochie shorts lol. I can't emphasize how amazing the weather has been this pass week. The trees and flowers are in bloom and the colors just brightens the city. You can't help to stop and admire what mother nature has given us.

One of my favorite things to do is lounge on the steps of union square. Since it's been wonderful outside more street entertainers are out and spectators. It gets extremely crowded and sometimes your out of luck finding a step to reside your ass. When you do find a spot and begin admiring the people passing by while you relax to the sweet smell of spring it's just one of those new york moments you'll find yourself appreciating.

All that walking makes me hungry so I had dinner with friends at Ashiya Sushi located on 1st avenue between 10th & 11th street. I just love this place during weekends it gets crazy packed but the wait is worth it. The restaurant offers all you eat and drink for $30. The sushi is fresh, delicious, and probably the best I had in new york which kinda reminds me of Louisiana sushi which in my opinion is the "Bestest"!

We can't complete our night until we grab dessert so we head over to my favorite place pinkberry
or what I like to call it crackberry. I got super excited to try there new flavor mango and I must say it's heavenly.

speechless.
