Fair's & Beer's

This past saturday was insanely a windy day in new york. Me and the best friend decided to check out the St. Mark Street fair and do some thrift/vintage store shopping. I couldn't really enjoy the street vendors or let alone take pictures just because of how strong the wind was blowing. Besides the hurricane winds it was really a beautiful sunny day and it was such a great way to spend the afternoon with the b.f.f.

After checking out the vendors and shopping (which by the way I managed to snag a very unique mint shirt for $10 which i'll have to post later) we met up with my friend at a local sport bar called Village Pour House. This place sells all types of beer like Abita Beer (crafted beer made in Louisiana) which is a pretty damn good beer. I skipped the Abita and ordered a Hoegaarden Beer and a Smokehouse burger. The burger of course was delicious. The beer was perfect. Another great afternoon with friends :)

my urban jungle

Please excuse my pictures I look so weary due to lack of sleep for the pass 48 hours. I been working and only running on 3-4 hours of sleep. Anyways, it was another beautiful day in the city and my childhood best friend is here for the weekend ... yay!!! We took a stroll through central park and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. I just can't get enough of central park it's my go to place to find relaxation especially since I had a long work week.

You know my post would not be complete until I post a food excursion. One of my top 5 places to go to grab a very affordable lunch is at Isle Thai Home Cooking located in the west village. They have lunch specials for $8 and it comes with your choice of appetizer and entree. The portions are very good and you won't be disappointed. I ordered crispy chicken & shrimp fritter appe. and pad thai as my entree. I think they also make a pretty awesome iced thai tea.

momofuku

Had lunch with my roommate and our good friend today at momofuku noodle bar. We've heard a lot of great reviews and I was definitely amp to try the food. Surprisely, we didn't have to wait long to be seated since we came after lunch rush hour. The place is narrow as far as seating arrangements goes but the place feels homie and I just love the lighting and modern look.

We ordered the pork steam buns and fingerling potatoes for appetizers. I really love the taste of the fingerling potatoes it had benton's bacon, scallions, and a poached egg served on top. I ordered the momofuku ramen which comes in a huge bowl and it contains different pork parts and a poached egg. It was good but nothing out of this world. lol. I just love the expression on my friend's face.

Napoleon

It's been about a week since my trip to D.C. and my final day we had brunch at a little french bistro called Napoleon. We were actually suppose to have brunch at a place down the block called Perry's. Perry's, is known for there eccentric drag performers but unfortunately the wait was nearly two hours. Anyways, this little vibrant black and red decor restaurant caught our eye and well to our surprise the restaurant was a huge hit.

If you happen to be in the D.C. area I highly recommend checking this place out. The price is affordable. The portions are good. It's funny when the waiter asked us if we've been here and we replied with a "no" he seriously looked at us lost and finally noted that this was going to be the best brunch we ever had. lol. He was right.

I love Egg's Benedict and not to brag but I make some pretty bad ass benedicts. I had sunday brunch with the roommates this morning. I served french toasts, hash browns, fresh strawberries, egg's benedicts, and of course brunch would not be complete until you serve the mimosa's.

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

When you enter the marketplace there is a huge food court area that displays all the food you can order.

spring.

The best thing about living here in n.y is being able to experience the different types of season. Back home in Louisiana it was pretty much summer-hot, summer-humid, summer-steaming, and fall-cold. Well .. maybe I'm exagerating. Anyways, we're finally getting spring weather and I must say it's been fantastic. I'm sure we can all agree that winter should be dunzo and it's time to make way for spring.

It's been awhile since I have gone to St. Patrick's Cathedral and I ended up attending late mass today. This cathedral is so unique and beautiful. I just love the gothic-style architectural features that the cathedral has. We managed to go to there early so I snap a few pics to show you guys the amazing interior.

Good eats in L.E.S. If you don't want to travel all the way to Philly to have an authentic cheese steak I would recommend checking out 99 miles to Philly

cheap and good.
