3LW (3 little women)

Excuse the low quality pictures .. i didn't get to use my DSLR camera .. instead we used a regular digi camera because well it was easier to carry around.  Anyways, not sure if you were reading my previous posts but my childhood best friend was in town last weekend. I just wanted to share a few pics with you guys. It was my friend's last night and we wanted to have a special girl's dinner. We were in the mood for italian food so we headed to Little Italy for dinner.

There's too many italian restaurants to choose from when your in Little Italy. Frankly, I think there all the same so we just randomly picked a restaurant. We decided to try II Piccolo Bufalo this particular restaurant caught our eye just because of the exposed brick decor and $9 entree special.

Dee ordered spaghetti and meatballs (those balls were massive), Ai had Spinach Gnocchi Bolognese, and I had spaghetti carbonara.

Fair's & Beer's

This past saturday was insanely a windy day in new york. Me and the best friend decided to check out the St. Mark Street fair and do some thrift/vintage store shopping. I couldn't really enjoy the street vendors or let alone take pictures just because of how strong the wind was blowing. Besides the hurricane winds it was really a beautiful sunny day and it was such a great way to spend the afternoon with the b.f.f.

After checking out the vendors and shopping (which by the way I managed to snag a very unique mint shirt for $10 which i'll have to post later) we met up with my friend at a local sport bar called Village Pour House. This place sells all types of beer like Abita Beer (crafted beer made in Louisiana) which is a pretty damn good beer. I skipped the Abita and ordered a Hoegaarden Beer and a Smokehouse burger. The burger of course was delicious. The beer was perfect. Another great afternoon with friends :)

my urban jungle

Please excuse my pictures I look so weary due to lack of sleep for the pass 48 hours. I been working and only running on 3-4 hours of sleep. Anyways, it was another beautiful day in the city and my childhood best friend is here for the weekend ... yay!!! We took a stroll through central park and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. I just can't get enough of central park it's my go to place to find relaxation especially since I had a long work week.

You know my post would not be complete until I post a food excursion. One of my top 5 places to go to grab a very affordable lunch is at Isle Thai Home Cooking located in the west village. They have lunch specials for $8 and it comes with your choice of appetizer and entree. The portions are very good and you won't be disappointed. I ordered crispy chicken & shrimp fritter appe. and pad thai as my entree. I think they also make a pretty awesome iced thai tea.

food porn.

My day started out planning a picnic for me and the bf instead we decided to skip the picnic and indulge ourselves on our food cravings. We headed to the city and began our non-healthly food crawl.

Our first stop started in Chinatown. The best vietnamese sandwiches can be found at Paris Sandwich Bakery Cafe. I had ordered the vietnamese meatballs baguette which comes with pickled carrots, cucumbers, and cilantro. The baguette is extremely soft and crispy it really compliments the vietnamese meatballs. The snack was washed down with an iced thai tea. The sandwiches are only $4 and there's a wide variety to choose from.

(hours later after walking around)

It's dinner time and I was craving a brick oven pizza. We met up with a few friends and we all decided to  head to the west village to John's Pizzeria. It was my first time there and I've heard a lot of great things about their huge pizzas. We ordered two "18 pizza both stuffed with amazing toppings such as sausages, meatballs, pepperoni, and ricotta. It was a total of four people and we devoured everything but some of the crusts. The 18" pizza is about $20-$28 but it's definitely worth every penny because the pizza is so tasty and everything you imagine a new york pizza should be.

Dessert time. Our lil food crawl would not be completed until we had dessert my favorite part of the day. We knew we wanted to grab gelato. It took several stores before we came across this little, cute, and bright store. The line was out the door so you can already assume it's going to be delicious. The place is called L'Arte del Gelato and I don't know why I missed this place. The gelato and sorberts is out of this world. They offered a wide selection of exotic flavors such as spicy chocolate, nutella, olive oil, and etc. I ordered the olive oil and panna cotta and together it was harmonious.
