Thank goodness I have electricity! I'm safe thanks for all your concerns during Hurricane Sandy. It's been
awhile since I posted a Wishful Wednesday. The weather in New York has dropped in temperature therefore
it's time to bust out the winter coats. Here's a few jackets that I adore but I know I can't afford but they are
 definitely great inspiration/reference.

Calm Before The Storm

Trench: DKNY Skirt + Belt: Forever21 Plaid Shirt: UO Chambray: H&M Boots: Hunter
Glasses: Warby Parker

As some of you may know there is a hurricane heading to New York. It's ironic I left New Orleans
7 years ago to avoid all this hurricane business. After Hurricane Katrina's devastation I was ready
to move away and now I'm force to prepare for this megastorm. Though this huge storm is coming ..
in good ole new york fashion .. people were still out and about doing their thing. I had a friend's
birthday celebration at Hill Country and this is by far my favorite BBQ joint in New York. The
food is amazing but I think the reason why I like it so much is that it reminds me of home. Everyone
knows the south cooks the best BBQ and Hill Country will not disappoint you. The best thing in the
menu is the moist briskets. Words cannot describe how freaking delicious it is. Just go try it if you
happen to be in the new york area.

Wish me luck. Hope our electricity doesn't go out.

Let him eat cake

Dress: H&M Blazer: Husband's old high school blazer Necklaces: Forever21 + Charlotte Russe
Heels: Zara Purse: Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC

Just a quick outfit post. It's the hubster's big 3-0 birthday and I took him out last night and celebrated
at Club A Steakhouse. I wish I took food pics from the restaurant but I just wanted to enjoy the
moment with my husband. If you happen to be in the New York area please check out this amazing
restaurant. If your a steak enthusiast, like my husband, this place will not disappoint you. The owner
and staff made our dining experience memorable and delightful. Can't wait to go back.Which will be
next weekend (happy grin)

I made him a birthday cake using Wolfgang Puck's 16 layer chocolate cake recipe. I enjoy baking but this
cake kick my arse. It took approximately 5 1/2 hours of prep, baking, assembling, and decorating. I think
my wrist is still sore from all the whisking but it's all worth it.

Happy 30th Birthday my love.

Greenmarket @ Prospect Park

Sweater: JCP Dress: Tucker for Target Shoes: Toms Bag: H&M Rx Glasses: Warby Parker

I recently got a new pair of glasses and I just adore them so much. I honestly never really like
wearing glasses but these specs make me feel so confident and beautiful. I cannot stop raving
to my friends and family how much I admire Warby Parker. Check out their website.

This past weekend I wanted to head upstate to check out a local apple orchard farm to do some apple
picking. Unfortunately, after talking with co-workers they had mentioned that apple picking season
was pretty much over. My whole mind set for the week was to make a "Tarte aux Pommes" which
is basically a french style apple tart. I just love the concept of picking fresh fruits or vegetables to
cook or bake something amazing. In order to compensate for not being able to go apple picking
we decided to hit up the farmer's market.

After shopping we headed over to the food trucks to grab some lunch. I knew already what I wanted
so I went straight to the Kimchi Taco Food Truck. They offer so many great fusion dishes but the
kimchi bbq steak sandwich caught my eye. For $7.00 I got an amazing sandwich for lunch. I love
anything korean. What's your favorite cuisine?

City Paradise

Jeans: Mango Shirt + Faux Fur + Belt: H&M Flats: Nine West Sunnies: Thrifted
Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Central Park is my all time favorite place in New York City. I can spend hours just wandering around
aimlessly. It's truly a great place to get away from all the hustle and bustle. A few friends came to visit me
and as requested they wanted to explore Central Park. I was more than happy to show them this lovely
paradise. We started from 59th street on the west side and walked through all the hot spots. The
most prominent location in my opinion would be the Bethesda area. I just love all the architectural
features such as the grand staircase, ceiling tiles, beautiful columns, and of course the fountain. I've created
a bucket list of things to do before I move and it just happened that renting a boat at central park is one. In
an effort to kill two bird with one stone I convinced my friends to rent a boat so we can enjoy the city
views. I am definitely going to miss Central Park when I move.
I wanted to share the last two pics of the yummy and huge macarons from Bouchon Bakery. Can you
believe it's almost the size of our palm. One macaron for me is good enough to crave my macaron fix.
The cost for these babies are $3.50 per macaron. I love the pistachio but I also got to try the featured
flavor of the month "pumpkin". The pumpkin was very thanksgiving-ish and it was delicious.

The Blues

Jeans: Mango Chambray: H&M Shirt: Zara Shoes: Toms Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Necklace: Forever21 Sunnies: Thrifted

Sorry I been M.I.A the hubster and I got ill last week so I had to take some time off from blogging.
Before we got sick we did manage to do a date night. I wanted to take my hubster to a popular
ramen joint called Ippudo. Though Ippudo is known for there ramen I was pretty excited for the
pork belly buns. I just can't get enough of the yummy pork belly flavor inside a steamed bun.
The place gets very busy especially during rush hours. An expected wait time can run up to 2 hours.
I suggest checking the restaurant either lunch time after 2pm or dinner time right when it opens
at 5pm. If your not a big fan of ramen like I am the restaurant offers hot/cold dishes during dinner.

DAF: Codex Dynamic

Last week I attended the Dumbo Arts Festival in downtown Brooklyn. It's a 3 day
event that allows local, national, and international artists to showcase their artwork. About
500 artists particpate yearly and the festival attracts about 200,000 visitors. It was my first
time attending the festival but I mainly came to watch the Codex Dynamic.

The Codex Dynamic is basicly a video projection exhibition that is showcase in the interior
and archway of the Manhattan Bridge. The concept of the video is on man's relationship
with time, space, and effect. I was not sure what to expect but I was captivated with the whole
presentation. It was the coolest thing I ever got to witnessed and the entire setting was breath-
taking. I found this video on Youtube so check it out ...
